Today is the World Day Against the Death Penalty. We must take all necessary measures to abolish the death penalty and life without parole.

Two years ago today we organized this amazing event at SF State. Kevin Cooper phoned in from death row and we had a recording with Jarvis Jay Masters about life on death row. We were very happy to see that Governor Newsom ordered an independent innocence investigation into Kevin's case in 2021.

It was the most technically challenging event I have organized but after careful preparations it was a big success. It gave me hope for the future to see so many young people involved in this issue. Can't wait to start on-campus events again.

There is a growing momentum to abolish the death penalty in California. There are many ways you can get involved.
